 Recent Newssailing challenge..
Happy days all over,what a weekend.The winds for the first 26 hours were horriable speeds of 22 miles constant.First night was a pain, waves and the dreaded cold. Much damage on my poor huntress,the mast gate broke and with the vibration caused by the winds the mast step cracked and i has a constant leak in the bottom of my boat.last 15 hours was sail and bail ! wind chill was awful.i recall asking God please if i am to go over please not in the dark of the night.True to form it happened five times but during day time.Malahide sailing club on the estuary were wonderful and helped pull me ashore to fix what i could .During these moments battered tired co... 11.05.2010 pre challenge count down.

Wonderful to finally see the new web site go live .Martin and his team of complete web solutions have done a great job and from Jazmin and Rob a big thank you for your expertise and this site. .Martha from Lima Peru sent me a email with the words ( this is the better window for the world to meet Jazmin and to colaborate with the cause ) Could not have said it better myself .Below picture sunset on the Amazon river.

This challenge is to start at the top of El misti volcano in Peru Arequipa.from here to power para glide over 4000 miles.from the source of the mighty Amazon river a glazier 18000ft in the mountains,In the bath and follow the rio Apurimac river 1000k over the mountains and 3000 meter valleys to join with the rio ucayali and on to the Amazon river itself 100 miles outside of Iquitos.
